Looking back, did you make more podfic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you’d predicted?
Definitely a LOT more than anticipated. I got into the habit of posting once every week and that kind of pushed me to record more because I wanted to keep up the streak for as long as possible. I finally broke it in the summer and barely posted any new works in the second half of the year.
What pairing/genre/fandom did you record that you would never have predicted in January?
Uh, so much of the hockey pairings, probably. Like, Willy/JT or Tyler Seguin/Matty Tkachuk XD.
Did you take any podfic risks this year?
I tried some non-traditional formats like tumblr posts, or what borders on meta posts during the "Out of the Auditary" challenge in ... April, I think?
How did you grow as a reader/editor this year?
I learned a lot about my process. I started to incorporate visual editing into my process and that has greatly helped me streamline my work.
Personal favorite, for whatever reason?
ooh, hard to say. I'm gonna make a top five with no order
(1) dragged all over - a multivoice project with
frecklebombfic,
clachnaben
Was there one that didn't turn out the way you wanted?
Plenty but I luckily forgot which ones they were :)
Most popular that was posted this year?
Probably one of the multivoice projects or a Merlin one.
Most underappreciated that was posted this year?
According to the Kudos count, it's dragged all over and it's true that I would've liked more traffic on it, but it's also true that another podfic already exists.
Most "ah ha ha I can't believe I did this"?
It's a tie between the Sizzling Slutty Seguin Summer Series (like... the commitment and concept, not so much the individual podfics) as well as cold-reading yer a wizard, dudley.
Biggest learning experience?
Pick your multivoice partners carefully unless it's a podfic where execution doesn't matter to you as much.
Most difficult to make?
In a way, most of them. Agonising over song choices or cover art is par for the course and in many cases my biggest struggle.
A scene or character you voiced that surprised you.
Not directly. I feel like I have 3 voices that I tend to recycle, so if anything, I'm surprised by how same-y they all sound.
Who was your greatest positive influence this year as a podficcer)
(could be another podficcer or beta or cheerleader or muse etc etc)
I'm gonna pick the
