I'll get to the things I promised but please take the time for some serious things first, okay? I'm no citizen of the USA so I cannot vote for or against anything but I can re-post information so those on my flist who can vote will be informed (even though I think most of you probably already are)

Anyway,

[Bad username or site: heidi8 / @ livejournal.com] talks about Proposition 8 in California here (which - if it came due - would forbid any marriage between gay couples)

Also you can watch THIS and maybe use it to convince others als well to vote against Prop 8.

Please take the time to read those things and spread the word. I may not live in the states but Gay Rights are something I care about no matter where I'm rooted.

Ich frag mich gerade, wie sich die Deutschen entscheiden würden, wenn es so eine Abstimmung hier gäbe. Es ist ja so, dass Deutschland in vielen Dingen sehr viel liberaler ist als die USA, aber bei dem Thema gibt es ja auch hier noch so viele Vorurteile.

Ohja, leider. Ich weiß wie ich wählen würde und ich hab genug Freunde, die es ebenfalls täten und dann kenn ich noch einige Wahlberechtigte, die ich überzeugen könnte und würde aber alles in Allem? Ich frage mich wirklich, wie man sich entscheiden würde ...

Ich denke das Problem ist (ob in Deutschland oder den USA), dass viele Menschen Homosexualität zwar 'irgendwie' tolerieren, sich aber bei nicht dazu durchringen würden, bei so einer Wahl tatsächlich aktiv zu werden und dadurch von einer neutralen zu einer positiven Meinungsäußerung überzugehen. Diese Leute bräuchten dann in ihrem Umfeld jemand wie dich oder mich, die den letzten Anstoß geben. Aber die hat eben nicht jeder. *megaseufz*

Aber trotzdem bleib ich in Bezug auf Prop 8 optimistisch. Das muss einfach klappen!
